This demonstrated that scientists can use novel imaging technology such as DCE-MRI to understand compounds in the early phase oncology studies.

Characterization of Ion Channels in Stem Cell-derived Cardiomyocytes on An Automated Parallel Patch Clamp System
22 Jun 2010: In this application note Molecular Devices use the PatchXpress 7000A automated parallel patch clamp system is used to record Na, K and Ca currents from stem cell-derived mouse cardiomyocytes. The collaborative effort demonstrates that the combination of “ready-to-use” cardiomyocytes with an automated patch clamp system offers a powerful assay platform for fast assessment of compound efficacy and for safety profiling of lead compounds in a biologically relevant system.

Leica Microsystems to Develop an Automated HER2 FISH Test with the Leica BOND Staining Platform
 22 Jun 2010: Leica Microsystems GmbH and Abbott have reached an agreement for Abbott to supply fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) probes that target the HER2 gene locus. The probes will be used to develop a fully automated FISH solution for HER2 testing on the Leica Microsystems’ BOND™ an automated advanced staining platform.
